John’s new collection of sacred choral pieces for lay clerks, choral scholars and other small vocal ensembles has now been published by Shorter House, the specialist choral and vocal music publisher.
Music for Lay Clerks brings together a number of pieces for daily use in cathedrals and other worship settings. Largely scored for alto, tenor and bass the texts cover a wide range of liturgical themes: joy, sorrow, repentance and praise, and the music spans the gamut of human responses to the majesty and mystery of Christian worship and ritual. The pieces in this collection can also be performed in concert settings as well as the Divine Office.Tags: Choral Scholars, John Duggan, Lay Clerks, sacred choral music
